Ambassador: Anne Pringle
Anne Pringle, MASc has a background in modern dance, international development and environmental applied science. This diverse background has led her to lead a professional life of equal diversity.
In 2010, Anne co-founded Local Buttons, an eco-friendly and ethical fashion line working with tailors in Port-au- Prince, Haiti to create up-cycled fashion for young professionals. Through Local Buttons’ four year lifespan, Anne had the opportunity to set up an ethical factory space in Haiti, participate in two business incubators, work with Cornell University on a fiber recycling initiative, present to numerous fashion and international development students at Universities and Colleges throughout Ontario and lead a class on sustainable fashion in Theory and Practice at Ryerson.
Since closing down Local Buttons, Anne finished her MASc at Ryerson and made the transition to the clean energy sector, to work for Potentia Solar. She has now returned to Ryerson to work as Coordinator for the Social Ventures Zone to help grow the next generation of change makers and social innovators. Anne continues to work in the realm of sustainable fashion with her latest venture, theGood6ix, an interactive map that allows Toronto consumers to search and discover fashionable, sustainable clothing.
